A university is using golf cars to educate students on the dangers of drunk driving.
North Carolina State University gives students “beer goggles” – glasses that mimic the body’s reaction to alcohol – and has them drive a golf car through an obstacle course. The university and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office set up the course on campus and offered students a try at “drunk driving.” No actual alcohol was used.
Student Paige Swanson told wral.com that navigating the course was difficult.
“I guess it’s a good way for students to see what happens if they do decide to drive when they are drinking,” she said.
