A lucky Wichita resident has a new Yamaha golf car after winning a drawing that raised money for a great cause.
According to radio station KVOE, Greg Ek of Wichita won the cart that 100 people had donated $100 each for the chance to win it. According to the station, “Team Schnak founder Kent Schnakenberg says all the proceeds raised from the drawing will benefit the group’s efforts to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes, including giving young patients the chance to experience Camp Discovery.” Over the years, Team Schnak has raised more than $400,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Schnakenberg told the station that this was actually the second drawing for the same Yamaha. The first winner didn’t want it, so he brought it back for a second drawing.
