Nivel is growing, and that means more jobs in the Peach State.
Atlanta, GA
Governor Brian P. Kemp recently announced that Nivel Parts & Manufacturing, North America’s largest independent provider of golf car aftermarket parts and accessories, will create more than 50 jobs and invest heavily in their existing facility in Cairo.
“I am thrilled that Nivel Parts & Manufacturing has chosen to expand their operations in Cairo,” said Governor Kemp. “Nivel is a fantastic partner with the local community in Grady County, offering internships through the local high school and creating job opportunities for students entering the workforce. A brighter future for rural Georgia starts with businesses like Nivel Parts & Manufacturing.”
Established in 1968, Nivel Parts & Manufacturing is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Nivel will expand their U.S. manufacturing operations to Cairo increasing manufacturing production at the facility. Building improvements and machinery relocation began in February 2019. The company has already started hiring new employees and will do so through July 2020.
“Here at Nivel Parts and Manufacturing, we are proud to call Georgia our home and a center of excellence for research, design, and manufacturing,” said Rob Darrow, Director of Change Management at Nivel. “We are a mid-sized company that values close relationships with our customers and associates. As we searched for solutions to provide high quality product at a competitive price, Georgia was on the top of the list to fit with our values. I would like to thank Chuck Stafford, Chris Addleton, Julian Brown, and all of the rest of the board members in Grady County for their kindness, hospitality, and willingness to do what it takes for a smooth transition. We are excited to bring new jobs to the community and look forward to success for years to come.”
Nivel’s investment in the local workforce will continue with the expansion of their current facility. The company has been involved with the Cairo High School’s College and Career Academy and will continue to support Grady County with internship opportunities.
“On behalf of the Commissioners we are pleased and overjoyed that Nivel chose Grady County,” said Grady County Commissioner Chairwoman LaFaye Copeland. “We need jobs here more than ever before. I believe Nivel chose the best County to open up their plant. We have a lot of dedicated Citizens who are eager to work and eager to learn. We are a County that knows all about hard work.”
Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) Regional Project Manager Tina Herring represented the Global Commerce Division in partnership with the Grady County Joint Development Authority and Quick Start.
“Congratulations to everyone involved in this exciting expansion project,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. Nivel’s expansion in Cairo not only shines a spotlight on the economic development assets in our rural communities, but also on our golf industry assets as all three of Nivel’s manufacturing customers are located right here in Georgia.”
