The driver of a golf car was not too popular in a Mexican island community after causing a power outage for much of the island.
According to the Riviera Maya News, a large section of Isla Mujeres in Mexico’s Quintana Roo state was left without power when a golf car ran into a power pole, causing it to take out a second pole as it fell. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a young woman and a teenage girl nearby in a golf car with extensive front-end damage. One of them was taken to a hospital in Cancun. It was unknown if they were local or visiting the island, which is popular with tourists.
Power was back on within the hour.
